Plant Outreach Discussion (POD) is a new series of panel discussions at Carnegie Plant Biology, in collaboration between the Department of Plant Biology and i-Cultiver.

The first POD will be on Tuesday, October 9th, with Todd DeSantis (Second Genome) and Ben Elliott (Insights Bio Ag). The POD panel will be moderated by Heather Koshinsky. These series will be held periodically.

Why POD series?

1. Academia has a wealth of basic knowledge, access to technology, and expertise. POD is the channel to figure out how best to apply academic tools to solve today’s real world problems.
2. Agricultural and food industry professionals will share their field knowledge and expertise with academic researchers to find points of intersection and collaboration.
3. POD series will identify future needs where new opportunities may exist for plant and environmental scientists.
