Agriculture in Communities
Contra Costa College’s, College for Kids - May-June 2024
We partnered with Urban Green Project for the College for Kids program at Contra Costa College in June of 2024. Our role included utilizing our BEST Interns. The intern scientists were able to grow the plants from seed, participate in the classes with CCC Staff and C4K Students, aid in harvesting the fruits of the plants and aiding, and finally aiding C4K Students, CCC Culinary Students and CCC Staff in preparing the harvested food with Chef Elisabeth. The food was then distributed to staff, students, friends and family at the C4K Summer Graduation event.
BEST Interns in the CCC Breast Cancer Awareness Fun Run - October 2024
i-Cultiver Best interns participated in the 2024 Annual CCC’s Interact Club Breast Cancer Awareness Fun Run. This was a great fundraising event for CCC Students and Staff and our BEST Interns were proud to participate this year! Many of our BEST Interns are current students at Contra Costa College.
Rajnish Khanna accepting the plaque for i-Cultiver. We’re proud to be members of the Manteca Chamber of Commerce! Rajnish frequents chamber events like the weekly coffee event hosted at different Manteca businesses. This is a great way to connect with our local community.
Rotary Club College Scholarship Committee - May 2024
Rajnish Khanna participated in the panel for judging and awarding the college scholarships to some very deserving students in the Manteca Community. This scholarship is provided to three schools by Manteca Rotary Club - where Rajnish is a proud current member. The Rotary Club collectively participates in, promote and hosts many community events throughout the year, all funding wonderful opportunities like the 2024 Rotary Club College Scholoarships. These scholarships were directly funded by the Rotary Clubs 2024 Omelet and Pancake Breakfast event, hosted on SuperBowl sunday. It was a hugely successful event where Rajnish worked hard making omelettes on demand alongside our Rotary Club Members!
