Vitazyme is a liquid biostimulantconsisting of vitamins, enzymes and other growth stimulating components. Thisstudy wasconducted in part to determine the mechanismsinvolved in Vitazyme activity. Greenhousegrown tomatoestreated with Vitazyme produced more fruit over multiple harvests. Preliminary data showsincrease in tomato lycopene and beta-carotene levels. Work was performed by i-Cultiver, Inc., which provides independent research and consultation servicesto agriculture, food and forestry industries.
Vitazyme (see Vitazyme website in ref.) plants(V) were treated according to manufacturer’sinstructions by spraying 1% solution (1 ML/100 ML) on leaves and oversoil surface (root zone) to the dripping point. It was applied every two weeksthroughout the active growth phase, until flowering stage. The total volume of 1% spray needed per plant increased for each application asthe plants grew bigger. The control plants(C) did not receive Vitazyme spray.
